Since all of these were behind-the-scenes work that never came to light, the crown prince, who was her fiancé, and the minor saints thought that "the Chief Saint is slacking off." After her engagement with the crown prince is broken off, Lily leaves the temple with a smile, thinking "finally I'm free," even as she is mocked.
