The year is 2010. A world that has diverged greatly from "original" history due to the appearance of 'ES ability users' in the final stages of World War II. A world that has changed from the "original" world into a different one. 'ES ability users,' who are called human yet not human, were gradually increasing in number. Countries around the world were discovering, training, and possessing 'ES ability users,' causing major shifts in military balance. Among them was one ordinary boy whose only wish was to 'fly through the sky.' However, as his middle school years were coming to an end, taking the 'ES aptitude test'—a national obligation—caused him to deviate from the path of "ordinary." Chasing his dreams, meeting various people, sometimes laughing, sometimes fighting. This is the story of Hirotaka Kawarasaki, a boy who was supposed to walk an ordinary life in an ordinary world—now walking a path in a world that is no longer ordinary. ※This is a contemporary fantasy that would have followed real history, but transformed into a world different from reality partway through.
