A Selfish Memory

A panda appeared in my dream and said this to me: "In one week, you will die. If you don't want to die, confess your love to him." The "him" the panda spoke of was my best friend and childhood sweetheart. The panda appeared in my dreams every day, counting down. Even though I thought it was ridiculous, something about the one-week deadline stuck with me. And when only two days remained, I finally remembered and became aware of my feelings for him. (Author's note below↓) It's more "boys like" (author's original term) than "boys love." It's a state that's more than friendship but less than romance... or rather, it can't quite be called that. Underdeveloped feelings, but still wanting to be together, still liking the other person. That's the kind of story this is.
