Three years later, Nicolaus abandoned his engagement with Dora, appearing with Anna, a holy woman of common birth, on his arm. Wounded, Dora abandoned her country and set out on a journey. A letter arrives at Dora's new home from Nicolaus. "Come back to the country where I, whom you once loved, exist." Outside the room where Dora reads the letter, monsters are migrating en masse toward a country that has lost its guardian. "Is this alright? The country you've always protected will be destroyed," asks Halim, the king of the desert nation and Dora's husband. Dora's answer had already been decided.
