When the TV is turned off, a zombie gets up saying "But I was just watching that"

My mission right now is to retrieve the remote control without being noticed by the zombie. If I completely eliminate my presence, the zombie might wake up in response to the sudden absence of presence, so the key is how naturally I can approach it. There's also a danger of waking it up if I accidentally pass in front of the television and block the light. I quickly approach the zombie from a slight distance and reach for the remote control at its feet, then turn off the television. In an instant, the zombie's eyes snap wide open and it says "I was just watching that!" while reaching out to snatch the remote back.
