A Simple Job Collecting Plants and Trees? (Plant Hunter Story)

When I came to, I was in a white hospital room. The older sister who rushed to my side upon learning of my consciousness returning was a complete stranger. Yet, this sister seemed to know me well, and overcome with emotion, she burst into tears. A few days later, the sister took me to a facility run by a religious organization on the outskirts of the city. It seemed I had been raised at this facility in place of my parents, who had died in an accident. According to the facility's rules, I had to leave by the age of 17, but since I had already reached that age, they said they would at least protect me for one more month. While desperately watching video recordings to recover my memories, I happened to learn of the profession called "Hunter." Upon investigation, it appeared to be an occupation involving gathering grass and wood. It seemed like simple manual labor. If I could make a living doing this job, surely even someone ignorant of the world like me could manage somehow? With such a lighthearted attitude, I mentioned this to the sister at the facility, and things progressed smoothly. Before I knew it, I had begun a Hunter's life together with a young girl who looked up to me as her older brother. On the eve of our Hunter debut, the sister brought gifts from the facility—combat uniforms, handguns, knives, and more. Why would we need guns to gather grass and wood? I thought a shovel would be sufficient... It wasn't until my first job that I realized the "gathering" I had in mind was different from what Hunters actually did. A large wild boar appeared, and I somehow managed to defeat it... Is this really a job about gathering grass and wood? That said, I couldn't imagine any other job in this world that I could do. Together with my spirited younger sister, I continued passing through the spatio-temporal gates day after day...
