The Adult Attic

My house has an attic. There's a rectangular frame in the ceiling of the second-floor hallway. When you hook a rod with a hook at the tip onto the handle there and pull it down, a folding ladder comes out. This is a story about the everyday life of a son who admires the attic as an adult secret base and a father who has turned it into a genuine adult secret base. Please read this while imagining your son's eyes sparkling with excitement.
