In a Perishing Nation

I started writing because I wanted to write about the protagonist being unloved and getting their comeuppance, but ended up getting lost in the process. Just a heads up, there are boys' love elements, so please be cautious if that's not your cup of tea. A mercenary protagonist who retains memories from their past life gets rejected by a princess and experiences some schadenfreude. That's all there is to it. Since it got long, I split it into two parts. The second part will be told from a different perspective. I feel like it didn't fully satisfy me. It's not explicit, but I think the sexual elements are stronger than in my usual work. If you think this crosses an R-rating line, please let me know quietly.
