Recently, I had noticed that my adopted son's gaze upon my daughter had become unusually defiant. I considered it might be the rebelliousness of an adolescent boy against a sister unrelated by blood, but... I received a report that he was attending upon a certain young lady alongside multiple other young men. It appeared that among those young men attending her, my daughter's fiancé was also included――my head aches. I had been thinking I needed to have a discussion with my adopted son when this happened. My daughter came to me for advice. She said she had been verbally abused in public by the fiancés attending that young lady in question. After hearing the full story, I thought it was hopeless. What on earth is that fiancé (fool) thinking? My daughter's engagement to him was formed because he is of the collateral royal family――an engagement made by royal decree. Otherwise, who would willingly marry off their only daughter to another household? Of course, I refused, citing that she is my only daughter.
