I Seriously Thought About Non-Edible Types of "Pan" (Bread)

"What kind of bread is bread that you can't eat?" This is an extremely famous riddle that almost everyone knows. The model answer is apparently "frying pan." However, no matter how you think about it, that doesn't make sense. It clearly contradicts the premise of "bread that is bread." If this were a riddle asking "name a word that contains the two characters 'pan' and cannot be eaten," then I could accept it. But in this case, the answer should be limited to things that are actually bread.
