Private "Tōmei High School." This high school, boasting the nation's No. 1 enrollment rate into top-tier universities, is characterized by its meritocratic school culture, where students' abilities are quantified into points across various categories—intellect, athletic ability, appearance, communication skills, leadership qualities, and more—and students are ranked accordingly. Graduating from this school in the top class comes with extraordinary benefits: not only admission to prestigious overseas universities is guaranteed, but also job offers after graduation and startup funding are provided. As a result, students engage in a daily system called "Duels" to compete and steal points from one another. The protagonist, Minagawa, was in the top class at such a school when one day he is betrayed by his girlfriend, whom he was dating in the same class, and loses all his points. Rather than seeking revenge against his girlfriend, Minagawa decides: "I'm sorry to my parents, but since none of this matters to me anymore, let me live like a normal high school student." He decided to enjoy a laid-back high school life.
