The Pride of a Maid

The story of Seri, a maid in the household of the Earl. In the household of Earl Craig, there is a firstborn daughter, Violetta, born to the first wife, and a stepsister brought by the second wife. The firstborn daughter is oppressed, given a shabby room, and spends her days filling in for the work of the head of the household, her father. Most of the maids follow the intentions of the heads of household and likewise look down on Violetta, boasting about what kind of harassment they inflicted on her. Among them, only Seri carries out her duties matter-of-factly. She does not take Violetta's side. However, she does not become her enemy either. The turning point comes on Violetta's birthday when she comes of age. A carriage from the House of Peers arrives and makes a proclamation: "We announce the intentions of the new head of household. Due to the reorganization of household management, the current servants are ordered to 'stand by' temporarily."
